1974 Jaguar XKE V12

The E-Type Series 3 was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 L Jaguar V12 engine, uprated brakes and standard power steering. An automatic transmission, wire wheels and air conditioning were available options. The V12 was equipped with four Zenith carburettors, and as introduced produced a claimed  272 hp, more torque, and a 0–60 mph acceleration of less than seven seconds. The new longer wheelbase offered significantly more room in all directions. The Series 3 is easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. The first published road test of the series 3 was in Jaguar Driver, the club magazine of the Jaguar Drivers' Club, the only owners club to be officially sanctioned by Sir William Lyons and Jaguar themselves. The road test of a car provided by Jaguar was published ahead of all the national and international magazines.
 
This stunning Jaguar XKE V12 is the last year of production for the icon of British spots cars. It is a documented two owner example with ultra low original miles. We have the Heritage Trust Certificate confirming a matching numbers example originally purchased in New York and then driven straight thru to Illinois where it still remains. It was used occasionally until 2003 when it was taken off the road and stored until the owner passed away. The second owner purchased the Jaguar V12 in 2020, from the widow and had an extensive mechanical refurbish by Northshore Sportscars. There is a 3 ring binder with documents dating back to to 1974 including original sale documents and service invoices thru the present. The original window sticker, owners manual, warranty binders, and British Heritage Certificate are all part of this wonderful historic vehicle record. This unrusted and undamaged Jaguar XKE shows light patina but still wears the original 50 year old special order silver paint and has the original interior from new. It is equipped with optional chrome wire wheels, 4 speed manual transmission, and factory air conditioning.
As the old saying goes, "they are only new once" and this is the one!
